Joan Emerson moved to Monmouth County in 2008 from Jersey City. She spent 25 years as a hospital nurse at St. Francis Hospital in Jersey City and afterwards worked 5 years for Sylvan Learning Center. She has experience with group counseling in alcohol and drug abuse. She enjoys walking, hiking and music and has three sons and 6 grandchildren.

Marilyn Schwertberger, a professional artist is working towards her CADC. She has been a yoga teacher in both the United States and Europe. She spent two years as a psychiatric case manager. Marilyn has one daughter and two grandchildren. |

Cathy Cardew is a volunteer at Prevention First. She is also an LSW and has a significant background working with youth and their families during life's challenges. At Prevention First Cathy assists with the organization of the prevention education resource center, the preparation of classroom materials for presentations, the distribution of prevention information to the community, along with numerous other tasks. As a native New Yorker Cathy most enjoys spending time in her home town visiting with friends and family. |
