| What is Safe Dates? Healthy Relationships/Safe Dates is a Prevention First initiative designed to address the problem of teen dating voilence in Monmouth County. How? By implementing the research-based curriculum, Safe Dates, in participating schools. In addition to school districts, collaborative partners also include professional agencies that support the same goals. How was this initiative created? Prevention First received a three-year grant from Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's New Jersey Health Initiative in order to implement the Safe Dates curriculum in collaborative Monmouth County school districts. In the fall of 2008, four school districts began implementing the Safe Dates curriculum. Since that time, four additional school districts and an inpatient adolescent treatment facility have joined the effort to promote healthy relationships in Monmouth County.
