The Prevention Education Resource Center (PERC) is an important tool for educators, parents, community leaders and students in their efforts to prevent substance abuse and violence. The center distributes treatment and prevention materials, offers prevention curriculum consultation, supplies statistical data on drug, alcohol, tobacco and violence and provides education and training programs.
In our Prevention Education Resource Center, informative brochures, pamphlets, videos and research materials are available to the public. Certified staff are available to offer supportive telephone guidance, technical assistance, professional consultation and referrals.
Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm or by appointment.

- houses Monmouth and Ocean Counties' most comprehensive collection of current information about substance abuse and violence prevention
- offers a video and curriculum lending library with a variety of free prevention publications

- holds more than 50,000 substance abuse and violence prevention education materials
- has an audiovisual lending library with more than 350 selections
- distributes approximately 3,000 pieces of literature a month
- fields 600+ help and informational calls and is visited by 700+ individuals annually
- offers a dedicated children’s section and includes computers/technology for research and video viewing area
